The information emailed to you when you booked should have included inforation on where to get discounted ski hire. If you didnt get this, contact us and we can arrange that for you. Pick up your gear as you come through Jindabyne.
If you arrive in the afternoon, take a stroll around the Alpine Habitats Eco-walk. You can veer off this track and visit the Threbo Valley Distillery and sample some of their Schnapps, German beer or variety of wines. They run a cafe style menu (http://www NULL.wildbrumby NULL.com/cafe/) so you could grab an early dinner (they usually close around 5pm).
For dinner try Crackenback Cottage just over the Alpine Way or Knickerbocker (http://www NULL.theknickerbocker NULL.com NULL.au/) if you feel like a drive to Thredbo.
We can arrange a breakfast hamper to be in your room when you arrive of you can self cater unless you feel like eating out for breakfast.
From Alpine Habitats, you can easily ski Perisher or Thredbo. Thredbo is a 20km drive up the Alpine Way. You can drive 40km to Perisher going back down the Alpine Way and turning left onto Kosciouskzo Road but the quickest way is to travel 5 minutes up the Alpine Way towards Thredbo and catch the Skitube (http://www NULL.perisherblue NULL.com NULL.au/winter/transport/skitube NULL.html) – an underground railway that brings you out in the centre of Perisher. Using the tube you rarely need to put snow chains on.
At either resort you can arrange private or group lessons and this is the best way if you have not skiied or boarded before or it has been a few years since your last trip.
When you are done there, head home, maybe stop in at Crackenback Cottage which is across the road from us for an afternoon drink or a snack.
That evening you could try a restaurant in Jindbyne or Thredbo or Cuisine on Lake Crackenback.
If your body needs some assistance recovering for the next day, try an in-house massage
If not all of the travelling party skis, why not try snow shoeing - it is a really easy way to enjoy the snow and we can arrange a trip with experienced guides.
You are always welcome to contact us and discuss other options as the above is only a suggestion!
