Long after the ski season is closed you can still explore the snow on cross country skis or snow shoes.  Catch a chair lift to the top of Thredbo then take a guided tour on skis or snow shoes – the back country is so different to the resort slopes and must be seen to be beleived.  You can book accommodation and add a guided trip to it or book a snow shoe package HERE (http://www NULL.thebookingbutton NULL.com NULL.au/properties/ALPHINEHABITATDIRECT).

Mountain biking?  The Snowy mountains has some of the best terrain in the country ranging from the Cannon Ball Run at Thredbo to meandering trails around lake Jindabyne.  The road riding is fabulous too with some huge climbs if that is what you are in to.  Our page on mountain biking has some of our favorite rides listed.

If the Man from Snowy River gives you goose bumps then you are in the heart of that country and what better way to see it than on horse back.  We can arrange total horse riding packages for you where you retreat to your luxury habitat overnight.

For many of our guests the Kosciuszko summit walk is on their bucket list and while this is a wonderful walk, there is far more to bushwalking in the Snowy Mountains than just this.  There are a number of walks recomended on our bushwalking page and guide books are available for loan from reception.

Trout fishing in the Snowy Mountains is another iconic activity.  The Thredbo River, considered one of the mainlands premier trout fisheries, is only just over the ridge and accessible from a number of locations a short drive from Alpine Habitats.
